Themingblogger was a name and an idea that I mulled over for a while. At first, I thought I would start a gaming reviews blog to attract a large viewership. But that idea was a little too hard for me as I was not a serious gamer, and filming gameplay footage was something I had little idea of how to do.

Coming up with the name themingblogger was a little troubling, but I knew I wanted to have a blog of my own. I was introverted by nature, and had trouble finding employment. I wanted a name for my blog that kept some privacy but was still a little playful and introspective.

I had some skills in art and design, like photoshop and digital drawing. I thought it would be a waste not to use them. I was having no luck finding a job in the design sector, and I had no idea how to begin drawing and creating for other people. Starting a personal blog was the easiest and most accessible option of building a platform where I could develop and present my art and designs.

I discovered art and drawing as an adult and found that I enjoyed it. I liked to practice my art and creativity, but I needed a reason to create pieces that would not just lay alone and unshown. Posting artwork on my social media and on the blog would help to give me inspiration to draw and create.

My life as an adult during this point in time lacked meaning and purpose. However, I could always come back to my blog in a pinch, sometimes just reading it and thinking about what I could do with it next. It was the act of trying that helped me to get over some issues in life and find positive meaning and attitudes.

A blog to share art was partly inspired by a book I read about blogging. In it, the author, herself a blogger, shared that blogging was about the community and about sharing experiences and knowledge. Being introverted and quiet, blogging was an outlet for me to express myself in ways which I found difficult in real life.

I thought and had some ideas about an artistic career. This included creating a children’s picture book, promoting art for mental wellness and health, and commissioning art and design for clients. I also thought of using the blog for professional partnerships and sponsorships. My blog would be a platform for these opportunities.

Writing posts about art styles and creativity helps me to express myself positively. Even though they reach only a handful of viewers, there is a soothing experience of being able to get my thoughts down in words. In addition, working on art for my blog is a practice that encourages me to learn and develop in all different forms of art.

The future of my blog is still uncertain to me as I know that there will come a time when I lose interest in continuing or lack content to create. My blog reaches only a handful of viewers, and I really need to start engaging in a larger viewership. The blog also needs a more coherent identity in terms of the content being produced.
As for why I started themingblogger, and why I still continue with this blog, I can only say that I enjoy blogging and creating during this time in my life when I am facing several challenges. I hope to continue blogging and find a reason to stay on, and to continue sharing art with others.
